Between developing initiatives established over the past few years and creating new projects, MaMA continues to assert its international dimension.
In 2024, SIM São Paulo (International Music Week) and the French Embassy in Brazil are launching the second edition of the France-Brazil Artistic Exchange Program in partnership with MaMA, the Institut Français, BMA (Brasil Musica e Artes), and Groover!
This international program will host 6 artists (3 French artists & 3 Brazilian artists combined into 3 Franco-Brazilian duos) and includes an artistic residency, career support, recordings, and the release of original singles.
As part of this initiative, the three selected Brazilian artists will join the official program of MaMA, and the three French artists will perform on the stages of SIM Sao Paulo in December.
We're still waiting to announce the Brazilian artists. However, here is the selection of French artists. In fact, two of them have already been seen on the MaMA stages!
February 2024 – Start of the artist residency.
Initial online conversation between participants to provide advice on the work process, artistic creation, and promotion, as well as to share ideas and get to know all the participants better.
February and March 2024 – Joint creation period.
Second joint meeting to monitor the artistic creation process. First meeting with mentors for support.
April 2024 – Presentation of a demo of the created single.
Third conversation between participants to explain the work process and artistic creation. Second meeting with mentors for advice.
From May 2024 – Recording, mixing, and mastering of the created singles.
International release of the finalized tracks. Start of promotion for the finalized singles*. Third meeting with mentors for final advice. *If the duos are unable to complete the recording of the final version of their compositions, they will be published and distributed when they are ready, by the end of 2024.
June to September 2024 – Distribution and promotion of the finalized singles in both countries.
With the collaboration of the artists and program partners, as well as promotion of the duos' participation in MaMA and SIM São Paulo.
October 2024 – Live presentation of the Brazilian artists at MaMA 2024 in Paris
With the special participation of their French duos, as well as participation in conferences and panel discussions.
December 2024 – Live presentation by the 3 French artists at SIM São Paulo.
With the special participation of their Brazilian duos, as well as participation in a conference and panel discussions.
