Becoming aware of environmental issues

Environmental Responsibility

Fairly Score

In 2024, MaMA partnered with Fairly, an innovative company that has developed a revolutionary tool to measure and display the economic, social, and environmental impact of events. This tool, called Fairly Score, works similarly to Nutri-Score but focuses on assessing the carbon footprint of activities. Thanks to this initiative, event organizers can now produce a comprehensive and transparent carbon footprint assessment, thereby raising public awareness of the environmental issues associated with each event.

This second lineup from the 2025 edition of MaMA features performances from three venues at the festival: FGO-Barbara, L’Élysée Montmartre, and Le Trianon.

  • This figure reflects the combined impact of these three venues and the MaMA event during its run from October 15 to 17, 2025.
  • Over the three days of the event, 6,822 unique attendees visited these three venues, and 605 speakers took the stage at the convention.
  • CO2 emissions, as well as the results in the economic, social, and environmental pillars, reflect both the festival’s decisions and actions (programming diversity, transportation, etc.) and those of the venues in their day-to-day operations (local impact, waste management, accessibility, etc.).

Prevention & Awareness

Gender-Based and Sexual Violence and Harassment (VHSS)

Every year, the SAFER association attends the MaMA Convention to provide information about its initiatives to raise awareness of sexist and sexual violence and harassment. In 2025, SAFER was given a dedicated space in the heart of the Trianon, allowing it to organize awareness-raising workshops and collect any reports of incidents.

In collaboration with EMIC, a team of volunteers was formed to provide audience assistance during the concerts. Outreach activities were also organized during the two club nights at La Machine du Moulin Rouge.

In addition, MaMA staff have received training from the Consentis organization on consent and providing support to victims of sexual and gender-based violence.

Audit Risks

Accredited professionals will have the opportunity to create custom-molded earplugs thanks to the return of the Earcare association to the FGO-Barbara lobby. In addition, Thalie Santé is offering free hearing tests.

Dispensers offering free foam earplugs are also available at the concert entrances for festivalgoers.

In 2025, 1,500 pairs of reusable earplugs were distributed to certified professionals as part of an ongoing hearing conservation program.

Accessibility and Inclusion

In partnership with Audiens, some of the lectures offered at the Trianon are provided with French Sign Language (LSF) interpretation.

Representation and Parity

MaMA’s artistic programming strives to set an example in terms of gender parity and features 50 to 52 percent of projects led by women or non-binary individuals each year. In the Convention segment, 51 percent of panelists were women in 2025.

University Partnerships

For several years now, MaMA has been partnering with academic institutions (Lumière Lyon 2 University, IESA, ICART, Les Formations d’Issoudun, etc.) to offer their students an initial immersion in the music industry through hands-on experience at the festival.

The New Wave

La Nouvelle Onde is an initiative launched in partnership with the CNM and MaMA in 2018, aimed at highlighting, promoting, and connecting the rising generation of professionals in France’s music industry—the New Wave of the music business.

Each year, a group of winners of the #LNOAwards and the #30Under30 awards is selected from among the applicants and receives one year of mentorship.

In 2026, MaMA will update its student ticket pricing to remain accessible to the next generation of professionals.
