About

Founded in 2010 by Daniel Colling and Fernando Ladeiro-Marques, following a “test” edition held in 2009 during the Printemps de Bourges festival, MaMA Music & Convention offers an event concept that is unique in France.

From its inception, MaMA—the Contemporary Music Market—has established itself as a premier event for industry professionals. By offering a wide range of activities tailored specifically to them, it fosters dialogue, connections, and networking within the music industry. At the same time, MaMA opens its doors to the general public with a concert program taking over the iconic neighborhoods of Pigalle and Montmartre. For three evenings, these iconic neighborhoods come alive to the rhythm of the festival, which takes over numerous performance venues and unique locations, creating a distinctive space for connection and sharing that brings together both professionals and music lovers from the French and international scenes.

This year, MaMA returns from Wednesday, October 14, to Friday, October 16, 2026.

A program designed for professionals

Convention

14 15 October 2026

Throughout the day, MaMA Music & Convention offers a rich and dynamic program designed exclusively for music industry professionals. Conferences, panel discussions, workshops, speed meetings, and numerous networking opportunities are scheduled back-to-back to encourage dialogue and foster new connections.

Led by experts from the music industry and related fields—sociologists, economists, researchers, and many others—the MaMA Grand Debates explore the major issues shaping the music industry today: developments in copyright and related rights, new sources of funding, the rise of artificial intelligence, as well as issues related to the international promotion of artists and the global challenges facing the industry.

In addition to these issues specific to the music industry, MaMA also addresses major societal issues, the evolution of which impacts the entire sector, both in France and internationally. Gender equality, the environmental transition, and physical and mental health: these are all essential topics that fuel meaningful and forward-looking discussions.

A space dedicated to innovation

MaMA Invent

For several years now, an area entirely dedicated to innovation has taken center stage at the Convention: MaMA Invent. For two days, the Trianon is transformed into a veritable laboratory, dedicated to exploring the latest technological advances and new applications that are shaping the future of the music industry.

With its startup village, specialized workshops, and targeted conferences, MaMA Invent has established itself as an essential hub for networking and collaboration, focused on the challenges of tomorrow.

It is also at the Trianon that CosyLab, MaMA’s “conversation lounge,” comes to life. In a more intimate and relaxed atmosphere, this space fosters spontaneous discussions among professionals, encouraging the emergence of new ideas, creativity, and innovation.

  • Several conferences on innovation and its implications for the sector
  • 20 food stalls open every day
  • CosyLab: A relaxed space for discussing new ways of listening to music and the latest trends
  • 20 workshops and demo pitches
