Between the development of initiatives launched in recent years and the creation of new projects, MaMA continues to assert its international dimension.
In 2024, La SIM São Paulo (International Music Week) and the French Embassy in Brazil are launching the second edition of the France-Brazil Artistic Exchange Program in association with MaMA, Institut Français, BMA (Brasil Musica e Artes) and Groover!
This international programwill welcome 6 artists(3 French artists & 3 Brazilian artists in 3 Franco-Brazilian duos) and includes an artistic residency, career coaching, recordings and the release of previously unreleased singles.
As part of this operation, the three selected Brazilian artists will join the official MaMA program, and the three French artists will perform on the SIM Sao Paulo stages in December.
We're still saving time to announce the Brazilian artists. But here's our selection of French artists. Two of them have already been seen on the MaMA stages!
February 2024 - Start of artist residency.
First online conversation between participants to provide guidance on the working process, artistic creation and promotion, as well as to share ideas and get to know all participants better.
February and March 2024 - Period of joint creation.
Second joint meeting to monitor the artistic creation process. First meeting with mentors for support.
April 2024 - Presentation of a demo of the single created.
Third conversation between participants to explain the work process and artistic creation. Second meeting with mentors for advice.
From May 2024 - Recording, mixing and mastering of created singles.
International release of finalized titles. Start of promotion of finalized singles*. Third meeting with mentors for final advice. *If the duos are unable to complete the recording of the final version of their compositions, they will be published and released when ready, by the end of 2024.
June to September 2024 - Distribution and promotion of the finalized singles in both countries.
With the collaboration of the program's artists and partners, as well as promotion of the duos' participation in MaMA and SIM São Paulo.
October 2024 - Live presentation of Brazilian artists at MaMA 2024 in Paris
With the special participation of their French duos, as well as participation in conferences and round tables.
December 2024 - Live presentation by the 3 French artists at SIM São Paulo.
With the special participation of their Brazilian duos, as well as participation in a conference and round tables.
