France x Brazil Arts Program

Through the expansion of initiatives launched in recent years and the creation of new projects, MaMA continues to strengthen its international presence.
In 2024, SIM São Paulo (International Music Week) and the French Embassy in Brazil are launching the second edition of the France-Brazil Artistic Exchange Program in partnership with MaMA, the Institut Français, BMA (Brasil Música e Artes), and Groover!
This international programwill bring together six artists (three French artists and three Brazilian artists, forming three Franco-Brazilian duos) and will include an artist residency, career coaching, recording sessions, and the release of new singles.
As part of this initiative, the three selected Brazilian artists will be included in MaMA’s official program, and the three French artists will perform on the stages of SIM São Paulo in December.
We’ll save the announcement of the Brazilian artists for later. In the meantime, here’s the lineup of French artists. In fact, two of them have already performed on the MaMA stage!

February 2024 – Start of the artist residency.
First online discussion among participants to offer advice on the creative process, artistic creation, and promotion, as well as to share ideas and get to know one another better.
February and March 2024 – Collaborative creation period.
Second joint meeting to monitor the artistic creation process. First meeting with mentors for guidance.
April 2024 – Presentation of a demo of the single created.
Third discussion among participants to explain the creative process and artistic development. Second meeting with mentors to seek advice.
Starting in May 2024 – Recording, mixing, and mastering of the created singles.
International release of the finalized tracks. Start of promotion for the finalized singles*. Third meeting with the mentors to get final advice. *If the duos are unable to complete recording the final version of their compositions, these will be released and distributed when they are ready, by the end of 2024.
June–September 2024 – Distribution and promotion of the finished singles in both countries.
In collaboration with the artists and program partners, as well as promotion of the duos’ participation in MaMA and SIM São Paulo.
October 2024 – Live performance by Brazilian artists at MaMA 2024 in Paris
, featuring special appearances by their French duos, as well as participation in conferences and panel discussions.
December 2024 – Live performance by the three French artists at SIM São Paulo.
Featuring special guest appearances by their Brazilian duos, as well as participation in a conference and roundtable discussions.
