CORPORATE CULTURAL POLICY
CNM x DGMIC
Last spring, the Centre national de la musique (CNM), mandated by the ministry of Cultural Affairs via the General Management for Media and Cultural Industries, launched a mission to create a national network of independent record stores dedicated to the sale of new recorded media. This initiative is part of a desire to consolidate their central role in the music industry and the cultural life of local communities.
The mission was entrusted to Bénédicte Froidure, a cultural engineering specialist.
The ambition is to create an open, inclusive, and sustainable network capable of supporting all independent record stores.
Through this project, the ministry of Cultural Affairs and the CNM reaffirm their commitment to musical diversity and local cultural commerce. Record stores, key players in the musical ecosystem, are encouraged, through this new association, to gain visibility and the capacity for collective action.
Introduction by François Jolivet, in charge of venues places and record stores department.
