Pape Moussa Diagne, aka Passa Beatz, is a leading Senegalese composer and sound engineer, with more than 15 years of experience. He is the musical architect behind many successes of the current Senegalese rap scene, having produced for major artists such as Nix, Omzo Dollar, Dip Doundou Guiss, Ndongo D, Canabasse, PPS, Jahman Xpress and One Lyrical His recognition is marked by more than 4 nominations at the Galsen Hip Hop Awards and won the prestigious Best Beatmaker award in 2017. His influence extends beyond Senegal, with a big continental hit signed for Ivorian rapper Didi B in 2023. Passa Beatz is distinguished by its versatility and rich musicality. He excels at merging genres and infusing a unique "traditional-modern" touch to his compositions. This expertise has led him to work on remarkable collaborations between great names in African music, including Baaba Maal and Akhlou Brick, Orchestra Baobab and Akhlou Brick, or Poundo and Rudy Gomis. He is a key partner of rapper Nix and a leading composer of the creative house LAVILLA13A, founded in 2023. Their vision and expertise are recognized by leading international and local companies such as Orange, Free, Google, Casamançaise and Canal+. Committed to transmission, Passa Beatz has been giving Masterclasses in Beatmaking since 2019 to share his knowledge and passion with young people. His long-term ambition is to open a music production training center in Senegal, in order to boost the local music industry and bequeath its know-how to future generations.
