Musician, producer, and mixing engineer born in Barranquilla, Colombia. He began his musical career playing in alternative Caribbean music bands in Barranquilla and started working as a producer and engineer in 2010 as an assistant to British producer Richard Blair (Sidestepper, Chocquibtown, Carlos Vives, Andrea Echeverri). He has collaborated in the studio with both national and international artists such as Ghetto Kumbé, Pedrina & Río, Nelda Piña, John Montoya, Abelardo Carbonó, Gualajo, Francisco Torres, Las Alegres Ambulancias, Son Palenque, and Roshani, among others. He has also been a member of bands such as Sidestepper and Cielito Drive, and currently leads the project Indus. Oscar has over 10 years of experience in music production and mixing. His works have been released on CD, vinyl, and digital formats, distributed by labels such as Real World, ZZK Records, Banfora Records, and Palenque Records, and featured by national press including Radiónica, Revista Shock, Canal 13, as well as international media such as Radio Gladys Palmera (ESP), Worldwide FM (UK), Southplug (CH), IndieRocks! (MX), and Radio Prun (FR). With his project Indus, he has toured internationally on different occasions across Europe, Canada, and Brazil. The sounds of Oscar Alford are rooted in the worlds of electronic, pop, and folk music, enriched by a continuous exploration of Afro-Colombian rhythms and traditions. He has participated multiple times in the Bogotá Music Market (BOMM) both as an artist and as a curator and promoter of showcases. In 2021, he was nominated for "Best Electro-Dance Artist/DJ" at the Nuestra Tierra Awards with his project Indus. He has also taken part in projects such as Youth and San Pacho Festivities (2018), organized by the Colombian Ministry of Culture and the German Embassy in Chocó, and Esto se Compone (2020) in Bogotá. He has been awarded several grants, including the Germán Vargas Artistic Stimulus Portfolio from the city of Barranquilla (2019), the Single Recording at Home grant from IDARTES (2020), as well as circulation grants from IDARTES (2022), the Colombian Ministry of Culture (2024), and Ibermúsicas (2023).
