ZAZA PRODUCTIONS / ASSALAMALEKOUM FESTIVAL
Director
Kane Limam, known as Monza, is an eclectic artist and producer, a key figure of the Sahel and a committed Maaya entrepreneur. For many years, he has worked across the Maghreb and Sahel, using art as a tool for dialogue and mediation to address intercommunity conflicts.
Founder of the Assalamalekoum Festival, he has left a strong mark on the cultural scene by leading the pan-African network Arterial Network in the Maghreb (2013-2023) and later at the continental level (2021-2023). Recognized as an expert in cultural economy and financing, he pursued advanced studies at Université Paris Dauphine and served on the UNESCO-NGO Liaison Committee (2022-2024).
His civic engagement began early, notably in 2008 when he translated the Universal Declaration of Human Rights into the Fulani language for UNHCR. He has been honored with multiple awards, including "African Entrepreneur of the Year Abroad" at the Trail Blazer Africa Awards (2021, 2023) and the Global Impact Awards (2023, Nigeria).
As a Mauritanian cultural diplomat, he has served on the African Culture Fund and was appointed Ambassador of Visa for Music in 2014 and again in 2025. A forward-thinking strategist, he co-founded the African think tank ACUNA (2024), contributing to critical reflections on the continent's transformations.
At the crossroads of art, diplomacy, and innovation, Monza embodies a new generation of African cultural leaders, building bridges between communities and amplifying Africa's voice on the global stage.
