Jean Paul Tamayo had several careers before devoting himself full-time to music. He worked for an NGO, in the international relations department of a city council, ran a family business in the construction industry, and even worked as a scout in the international fashion industry, living between Barcelona, Paris, and New York for several
years. During this time, he also built a career as a singer (sala and Latin jazz), performing at numerous international festivals and releasing two albums.
He co-founded Camino Real in 2018 and has since been involved in numerous musical projects involving concert and record production in France and abroad. He is currently working on the production of a documentary on San Basilio de Palenque in Colombia, as well as preparing an album with Sexteto Tabala, an iconic group from this village classified as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO.
