Benjamin Alcaniz is Head of Artistic Development and Artist Support, as well as Studio Coordinator at L'Astrolabe, the leading contemporary music venue in Orléans, France. A self-taught musician for more than twenty years, he has always been driven by the DIY ethos and the energy of independent music practices. His background reflects a deep commitment to artistic diversity and to creating spaces where all forms of music can thrive. At L'Astrolabe, Benjamin supports both emerging and amateur artists, guiding them in structuring their projects, building visibility, and navigating their artistic development. He pays particular attention to the specific needs of different genres, with a focus on urban music and beatmaking, which require approaches distinct from those of the traditional rock scene. Passionate about strengthening local ecosystems, he works to improve access to resources, foster creative exchange, and anchor artists more firmly within their territories, while opening pathways toward wider recognition.
