Antoine BOUCHERIKHA

Antoine Boucherikha is a composer, sound designer based in Lille, France. His sonic universe blends electroacoustic instruments, sound synthesis, sampling, and field recording. Trained and mentored by professionals from the audiovisual industry, his expertise spans composition, recording, production, and immersive sound distribution. Since 2015, he has composed music for visual media through his studio Life Pass Filter. In 2020, as a member of Next Sound Lab, he expanded his practice into interactive sound, contributing to various XR and video game projects. The last 3 years he has been audio director at Ishtar Games, where he leads sound development for both inhouse productions and publishing partnerships. Alongside his studio work, Antoine develops custom interactive audio tools and facilitates participatory digital art workshops with Otium, a collective based at La Condition Publique in Roubaix. His personal work explores new ways of experiencing our relationship to sound through the lens of immersion and interactivity. He treats sound as a living material spatial, tactile, and reactive capable of evoking presence, memory, and attention beyond traditional narratives. Deeply influenced by audionaturalism, he often works with field recordings as both subject and medium, revealing the fragile interconnections between humans and their environments. He believes artistic creation is also a space for taking a stand. His projects frequently address issues of accessibility, inclusion, and ecological awareness, striving to create experiences that are both sensorially rich and socially meaningful. Through installations, experimental compositions, and participatory audio environments, he invites audiences to engage with sound as a site of resonance, reflection, and shared responsibility.
