Alix Bénistant is an associate professor of Communication at the University Sorbonne Paris Nord (France, LabSIC). His research focuses on the processes of industrialization and transnationalization of culture, with a particular interest in the music sector and its digital challenges. He specifically examines platforms, listening practices, and the role of algorithms in the discoverability of cultural content. He recently took part in the French-Quebec project "Percer la chambre d'écho de la recommandation pour stimuler la découvrabilité et l'exportation des enregistrements sonores" (Labex ICCA / LATTICE, Ministère de la Culture, 2022-2025).
