As concerts and music content proliferate, distribution networks and touring circuits remain unevenly developed across regions. At the same time, the recording sector is strengthening, driven by labels, digital platforms, and the rise of a young, connected audience. This roundtable will provide an overview of existing networks and analyze programming strategies, touring circuits, and the growing role of digital technology. Labels, managers, and field practitioners will discuss the complementarities between live performance and recorded music: how do catalogs and streams stimulate demand for concerts, and how does live performance enhance artists' visibility and profitability? Participants will share their experiences to identify obstacles and opportunities, and explore regional and international cooperation aimed at consolidating a sustainable music ecosystem where live and recorded music mutually reinforce each other. The discussion will be enriched by the presentation of two new initiatives led by the Institut français: the Création Africa platform, dedicated to resources, networking, and professional mobility, and the Connect & Create program, presented by Mantchini Traoré – Project Manager for ICC and artistic cooperation in Africa. Both tools offer concrete support for the distribution and development of contemporary African music.
