The African music market: an Eldorado under construction, the challenges of a revolution

Africa is now emerging as the new territory for expansion in the global music industry. Between the dynamism of Nigeria, which is reinventing production and distribution standards, and the excitement of French-speaking music scenes developing their own models, the African continent represents a rapidly changing market. Nevertheless, many obstacles remain, including the lack of a solid legal framework for copyright, monetization, and IT infrastructure. We will explore Africa's potential through the examples of an African music-tech startup (Colorfol) and a major label (Warner).
