Composing, synchronizing, broadcasting: music for pictures in Africa today
Wednesday
October 15
12:00 - 13:00
FGO Barbara - Panel Room 3
INTERNATIONAL
French Institute
This round table explores the rising prominence of music for picture across the African continent. In numerous countries, a growing constellation of studios, collectives and local initiatives is emerging to meet the rising demand from film, audiovisual, advertising and gaming industries. Leading professionals of the sector will share their experience of composition, synchronisation and distribution practices. The session will map these nascent value chains, highlight the challenges they face – sync licensing, market access, training – and identify opportunities for cooperation.
The aim is to lay the foundations for a more structured and sustainable sector that is better connected to international markets.
Organised by the Institut français as part of Africa?Creative?Sounds, with the support of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs through the Création?Africa initiative.
