Agathe, before being Savanah, is first and foremost
a girl from Romans-sur-Isère, France, who dreams of dance and movies, of a utopian and
creative world, far removed from diktats. A teenage fan of David Lynch and Mulholland
Drive, whose destiny she shares in a way with one of the heroines. Agathe is like Betty, who
comes to the City of Angels in the film, hoping to make a living from the cinema. Unlike
Betty, however, Savanah then turned to music.
In her soaring piano tunes, she likes to evoke the sad and painful things in life through
misty but sometimes joyful melodies. Like a chiaroscuro painting, Savanah and Agathe
are the same person, but they are very different. One dazzles, the other is darker.
