A Swiss-Moroccan multi-instrumentalist and producer from the alternative scenes of French-speaking Switzerland, SAMI GALBI draws on his parallel musical universes to create his music.
On the one hand, raï and chaâbi, popular music from his childhood that he rediscovered in the taxis and cabarets of Casablanca, then on the other hand, sampled urban or electronic and dance music that saw him grow up, US hip-hop, UK bass, house or even reggaeton or baile funk. With his analog machines, raw synthesizers and his guitar, he offers a reappropriation of North African folk music, lending it contemporary textures and a club atmosphere. On stage, SAMI defends a "High Energy" music borrowing the codes of post-modern urban music.
