Swiss-Moroccan multi-instrumentalist and producer from the alternative scenes of French-speaking Switzerland, SAMI GALBI draws from his parallel musical worlds to create his sound. On one side, he embraces raï and chaâbi, the popular music of his childhood, rediscovered in the taxis and cabarets of Casablanca. On the other, he blends urban sampled and electronic music that shaped his upbringing-US hip-hop, UK bass, house, reggaeton, and baile funk. Using analog machines, raw synthesizers, and his guitar, he reinterprets North African folk music, infusing it with contemporary textures and a club-like atmosphere. On stage, SAMI delivers a « High Energy » performance, borrowing from the codes of postmodern urban music.
