Swiss-Moroccan multi-instrumentalist and producer from thealternative scenes of French-speaking Switzerland, SAMI GALBI drawsfrom his parallel musical worlds to create his sound. On one side, heembraces raï and chaâbi, the popular music of his childhood, rediscovered in the taxis and cabarets of Casablanca. On the other, heblends urban sampled and electronic music that shaped his upbringing-US hip-hop, UK bass, house, reggaeton, and baile funk. Using analogmachines, raw synthesizers, and his guitar, he reinterprets NorthAfrican folk music, infusing it with contemporary textures and a club-like atmosphere. On stage, Sami delivers a « High Energy » performance, borrowing from the codes of postmodern urban music.
