Beninese artist PERRINE FIFADJI was born in Pointe-Noire, Congo-Brazzaville. She arrived in France at the age of ten, but didn't embrace music until 20 years later. She started out playing Reggae, then went on to Rocksteady in the Bordeaux collective Aspo, before getting back in touch with her African roots and singing in various African languages. In 2011, on the Daquí label, she released her first album, "Awada Kpè Kpè", a sound adaptation of the show La Chrysalide. In 2012, she created Biface, a pure guitar/vocal duo with an Afro-blues feel. In 2019, the album "Une Goutte d'eau" was released on the Belgian label Homerecords.be. PERRINE FIFADJI is the 2019-2020 winner of the Prix des Musiques d'Ici / Diaspora Music Awards sponsored by the Villes des Musiques du Monde festival. In 2025, she is preparing to pay tribute to her homeland of Benin with the release of the album "Hwessi(n), Royales" on the GROWNKID label and publisher.
