Initially a personal folk project by Michaël Martin, MOLOCH/MONOLYTH gradually evolved into a full band, becoming a quartet in 2022. Their radiant rock, driven by contagious energy, still carries folk undertones, reflecting their wide range of influences-from 90s to contemporary rock (Pixies, Fontaines D.C., Together Pangea) to pop and folk (Death Cab For Cutie, Elliott Smith, Eels, The Dodos). After their debut EP "Farewell Full Moon" (2016), their first album "Naive Stories" (Grabuge Records, 2019) marked a clearer artistic direction, which they defended on stage and in festivals. On stage and in the studio, Michaël (guitar/vocals), Ita (drums/vocals), Tony (guitar/vocals), and Alexandre (keys/vocals) blend their voices into powerful harmonies, sharing deeply personal lyrics about death, parenthood, and emotional states. Their new album "How Strange It Is To Miss You When You're Right Here Next To Me" was released on April 26, 2024, via À Tant Rêver du Roi.
