MO LAUDI is a cutting-edge, pioneering South African DJ, producer, and artist whose Afro-house vision bridges African rhythms with the global electronic underground. Blending syncopated percussion with techno, acid, and house, he helped introduce South African sounds — House, Kwaito, Gqom, Shangaan Electro, and Amapiano — to European nightlife in the early 2000s, including the first live Amapiano performance on French television.
Born in Polokwane, MO LAUDI founded The Blunt before relocating to London in 2000, where he launched The Joburg Project — the first international weekly residency dedicated to South African DJs. Hosting pioneers such as Christos, Oskido, Da Vinci, and Fistaz, the residency played a key role in shaping the rise of modern Afro-house.
He has remixed Calypso Rose and Fatoumata Diawara, and shared stages with Miriam Makeba, Carl Craig, Roy Ayers, Hugh Masekela, and Diplo.
Through his label Globalisto, MO LAUDI champions projects such as Jozi Acid, Avant Garde Club Music, and Amapiano Soundsystem — pushing Afro-sonic culture boldly into the future.
