In his world, KAKY has made music a remedy for all storms, and a safe place to release his emotions, without shame. Since his debut with "La tête pleine," his first single released in 2020, the singer-songwriter has carved out a place for himself in the French pop scene by making his music a reflection of his emotions. Franck, known as KAKY, was 20 years old when he tried his first sonic experiments and shaped his taste for production. Using a recorder, he collected samples of everyday sounds in an ASMR style, which inspired him to create his "KakySound" shared on YouTube. The sound signal of an airplane or the crackle of a lighter are cleverly converted into singles, sometimes pop and minimalist on "Lundi matin," or even hip-hop on "Calme," in the credits of his first EP, "Room 404."
Beyond the manipulations on his editing software, KAKY gradually sharpens his pen, and heals his spleen, already evoking the lack of self-confidence and solitude, subjects that will remain dear to him. Supported since always by the producer and director ALEXANDRE SORET, known as Caméléon, KAKY continues his journey with a first album, "Joli Monde", always guided by an inexhaustible desire for introspection. From electronic productions ("1er avril"), to sparkling pop reverberations ("24"), KAKY puts words to his anxieties, disillusioned by the world around him, and magnifies his sorrows in music. A first long-format that will allow the artist to invest in the stage of the Boule Noire for the first time.
After more than two years of silence, KAKY made his comeback at the end of last year with a series of singles, "Notes", the sketches of a new long-format, "Does someone hear me?", which the artist will unveil on May 16. A "first chapter" according to the artist, which testifies to the renewal of his aesthetic identity (the DA is co-produced by Lara Chochon) and musical identity, the fruit of "889 days of searching for himself", of persevering, even if it means "forgetting his friends to finish demos".
Over the course of the 14 tracks, KAKY develops a choir of instruments, an acoustic guitar that accompanies him in "Pétale de roses", brilliant synths, or a piano that he even lets wander solo on the title "Worry's piano". Despite the doubts that persist, "Est-ce que quelqu'un m'entend?" sounds like a revelation, an obligation to escape, hair in the wind like in the video for "Drôle d'idée"... Or on the stage of L'Européen, where KAKY invited his audience for a unique concert on May 13, sold out in only two days. He will perform before the first part of HELENA's concerts, before a provincial tour planned for the fall.
If KAKY has always known how to make his music a way to express himself from the heart, the artist seems at the top of his art with "Does Someone Hear Me?", his most intimate project, and heals his pains by reappropriating them. All that remains is to obey the injunction taken from "Oh j'plane": "Forget what your name is, turn the speaker up to the maximum, so that we no longer hear the voices fighting in our heads"...
