FUNKY DISTRICT crafts a world that's both absurd and elegant, blending a dazzling '70s aesthetic with fonky, soulful pop and a distinct French flair.
Born as a disco/house duo in southern France, they released their debut EP "404 NOT FONK" in 2023, a sample-rich burst of retro energy.
The project soon expanded in Paris with the addition of a bassist and a saxophonist, teaming up with Nic Hanson on "NOW WHAT?", an EP mixing soul, R&B, funk, disco, and organic textures.
On stage, the five-piece ignites intimate clubs and larger venues alike, touring as far as Belgium with shows as precise as they are festive.
After two festival runs, the live band now readies a new EP for late 2025, again with Nic Hanson, pushing their sound toward funk-rock and pure disco flair.
Their journey peaks with a first headline show at the legendary La Boule Noire in January 2026 - a promise of high-voltage French funk.
