In September 2023, Dimitri Kogane and Paulin Courtial recorded their second album, « Castèls dins la Luna », in Chicago with Steve Albini (Nirvana, The Pixies, Fugazi, PJ Harvey, etc.). « Castèls dins la Luna » fuses the raw energy of American post-rock with sharp, urgent melodies sung in the Occitan language.
Inspired by Queens of the Stone Age, tracks like « Cal viure amb son temps » and « Negra fin » channel anger and melancholy through heavy riffs and hypnotic vocals.
Mostly alternative rock, CXK also explores other musical horizons, even venturing into organic electro with the track « Enrico », recorded with just a guitar and drums.
This nine-track album tackles the urgent need for awareness in the face of modern violence, while drawing strength from collective memory. It closes with « Granda, Bailèra », an explosion of guitar effects that delves into the madness of those who dream of castles on the moon.
