Thanks to Fairly, MaMA and FGO Barbara are revealing their score!
This year, MaMA partnered with FAIRLY to calculate the carbon footprint of the Convention for one of its venues: the FGO Barbara.
But what exactly is the FAIRLY Score? It allows organizers to measure and display the economic, social, and environmental impact of their event to their audience.
To provide context for this initial score, here are a few factors to consider:
- This figure reflectsthe combined impactof the venue and our event during the period it was in use (October 16–18, 2024).
- Over the course of the three days,2,671uniqueparticipantsattended the FGO, and 140 speakers took the stage at the Convention.
- CO2 emissions, as well as the results across theeconomic, social, andenvironmentalpillars, reflect bothinternal decisions and measures (programming equity, mobility, etc.)and the venue’songoing managementpractices(equity in staff, local impact, waste generation, etc.)
To learn more about FAIRLY’s approach, we invite you to (re)discover their participation in MaMA through these highlights:
