Pascal Bittard is the founder of IDOL, a company specializing in digital distribution for independent artists and labels.
He began his career in 1994 at Sony Music as Distribution Director for independent labels, before moving to V2 Music France in 2000 as Marketing and Digital Director.
In 2006, he turned his attention definitively to digital technology and founded IDOL.
Pascal set about building an independent, sustainable business model. IDOL has remained 100% financially independent, still owned by its founders and a pool of employees. It is also 100% independent in terms of its technology, developed entirely in-house.
Today, IDOL is an international digital distributor providing first-rate services to some of the most prestigious names in independent music. Labels such as Microqlima, No Format!, InFiné, Gondwana, Erased Tapes, Fire Records, Soundway, Glitterbeat, SRD and Ubisoft. Artists such as Four Tet, Nils Frahm, Rone, L'impératrice, La Femme, Ibrahim Maalouf and Lomepal.
In addition to distribution, IDOL has been developing a technical service business since 2012 (supply chain, analytics, API, white label, etc.) through the Labelcamp brand, which offers its technologies, applications and infrastructures to customers such as PIAS, Because, Republic of Music, Ditto, Concord....
IDOL now employs over 70 people in Paris, London, Berlin, Nashville, Los Angeles, New York and Johannesburg.
