Karen LOHIER

An artist and a unique figure on the French music scene, KATEL explores new aesthetics on each album, both bold and accessible. She is also a producer/sound engineer/mixer at her Mutterville (Paris) and Mutterval (Normandy) studios and has recently joined the FLAM Music agency. KATEL champions the role of women in music by participating in mentoring programs such as Mewem, joining the Sacem Equality and Diversity Commission, and giving lectures and workshops. In 2018, she founded the FRACA!!! label with two other artists, Robi and Emilie Marsh, and launched her own publishing company, Rospiko Publishing. "FRACA!!! is the continuation of an informal movement of mutual aid between women in music which also took place in a spirit of celebration and sharing. Initially, we wanted to pool our strengths to produce our albums, then we wanted to follow them through to the end: the production, the promotion, the image, to be totally artistically free. And the logical next step was to share them with other artists."
