Helienne LINDVALL

Helienne Lindvall is an award-winning songwriter, musician and President of the European Composers and Songwriters Alliance (ECSA), as well as author of the Guardian's music industry columns Behind the Music and Plugged In. She has chaired the Ivor Novello Awards and is the former head of corporate and songwriter relations for song data management platform Auddly/Sessions, supported by Max Martin and Björn Ulvaeus of Abba.
Originally from Sweden, she worked as a session singer, recording artist and performer in Stockholm and New York before moving to London, where she signed a publishing contract with BMG Scandinavia and, later, Universal. Since then, she has worked with recording artists on both sides of the Atlantic, including Roger Sanchez, with whom she wrote the hit club Turn On the Music, Big Daddy Wilson and The Dark Tenor, collaborating with award-winning writers including Jörgen Elofsson (Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears), Patrik Berger (Icona Pop, Robyn), Steve McEwan (Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood) and Negin Djafari (Becky Hill, Drake, Craig David). In 2016, his song A Better Man made the Eurovision final in the UK.
Recent releases include Unwant You and Locked In Your Love with Menrva, Glass Keys and Dani Senior, and Let My Love Shine Through with Ada Vox.
Helienne has written columns for Digital Music News, The Musician, The Australian and STIM-Magasinet. She regularly appears on Sky News, the BBC, Irish National Radio and Swedish National Radio, discussing songwriters' rights, copyright and other music industry issues.
