Gabrielle GAUTHIER-DURAND

Label Manager, Artist Manager and Head of Publishing and Neighboring Rights at Simone Records, Gabrielle Gauthier-Durand works with some thirty musical artists who have made their mark on the Quebec and international scenes. Winner of the Félix award for Record Company of the Year at the ADISQ Gala 2020, the Simone Records team stands out for its human approach, creativity, values and artistic direction. For over 15 years, artists such as Louis-Jean Cormier, Marie-Pierre Arthur, Ariane Moffatt, Dany Placard, Hubert Lenoir, Les Hay Babies and We Are Wolves, to name but a few, have been shining on the Quebec, Canadian and European scenes, making the Simone Records team proud.

Originally a classical musician, she began her career as a violin and cello performer and teacher. Gradually abandoning the stage to focus on the organizational aspects of the music industry, the graduate of UQAM's Cultural and Media Production Strategies program is mainly interested in the production and marketing of cultural products. Before joining the Simone Records team in 2018, Gaby first held a position as communications manager at a multidisciplinary broadcaster, then in artist management and booking at Spectra Musique.

Working mainly in the marketing, promotion and production of albums, but also in the management of neighbouring rights and music publishing, she has been invited to take part in numerous conferences in Canada and internationally, and to speak on various panels dealing with the music industry. In 2019, she will be taking part in the Phoenix program, supported by Heritage Canada and aimed at Canadian business leaders in the music sector, whose objective is to help managers develop their business model and deepen their knowledge of finance, human resources, planning, etc. More recently, she was part of the cohort of 5 Canadian managers selected to participate in the Canadian Creative Accelerator program in partnership with the Canadian Consulate General in Los Angeles, whose initiative aims to increase the global reach of Canadian cultural productions. Selected as an innovator in the 2023 cohort of Keychange, an initiative of Creative Europe and the European Union, she is part of a movement of 74 women and men of gender diversity from 12 different countries, campaigning for greater representation and equity in the music industry. Through these experiences, Gabrielle has developed her leadership skills and her unique vision of the music ecosystem in which she evolves.
