Bertrand BURGALAT

Born in 1963, President of Snep since 2020, Bertrand Burgalat is a musician and producer. He has worked on more than 200 albums, composed for Marc Lavoine, arranged by P.J. Proby or remixed Depeche Mode. As a performer, he has released six studio albums under his own name. In the cinema he has written the music for films by Pascal Bonitzer, Valérie Lemercier, Eva Ionesco and Marc Fitoussi. On television, he produced The Ben & Bertie Show, a musical fiction broadcast on Paris Première, on the radio the show Face B, broadcast on France Inter. Tricatel, the record label he founded in 1995, is entirely dedicated to unclassifiable artists (Chassol, Ingrid Caven), extraordinary projects (Jonathan Coe, Michel Houellebecq, Catastrophe) and composers such as André Popp or David Whitaker. Author of numerous articles and prefaces, he has edited (with Bertrand Dermoncourt) a collection devoted to music for the publishing house Actes Sud. He published an essay, Diabétiquement Yours in 2015 with Calmann-Lévy and he is president of the association Diabetes and Méchant. Winner of the 2012 CSDEM Prize for Composer of the Year, Bertrand Burgalat is an Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters.
