Yoel Kenan is the founder and CEO of AFRICORI, the leading pan-African distributor of digital music. Africori provides labeling, digital distribution, sync licensing and publishing services to artists, songwriters, labels and other music rights holders in Africa. Yoel has over 30 years' experience in the international music industry in senior positions in A&R (Artist and Repertoire), marketing and business development at Universal, BMG and mp3.com.
Yoel began his career in France organizing concerts and setting up an independent label before joining Universal Music. He then moved to London to work for Universal Music International and BMG Europe, where he held various positions in marketing, R&D and digital. In 2001, he was appointed CEO of mp3.com Europe, the continent's first digital music portal. In 2005, Yoel moved to Africa to develop new business opportunities in digital music on the continent.
Africori is based in Johannesburg, with offices in Lagos and London, and representation in Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia.
