Roger ATANGANA KOLO

REAL JAPANESE HIP HOP
FR

Roger Atangana Kolo, also known as Attango, is the founder of the Real Japanese Hip Hop media. His immersion in the world of Japanese hip-hop dates back to 1997, when he discovered a Japanese rap compilation, particularly impressed by the track "Summer Jam 95" by the group Sha Dara Parr. Despite his career as an IT consultant, from 2013 onwards he travelled extensively to meet major figures on the Japanese hip-hop scene, including rappers and DJs.
In August 2015, he founded Real Japanese Hip Hop (RJHH), now considered the leading international media outlet dedicated to Japanese hip-hop culture outside Japan. As of 2018, Attango is invited by several artists to take part in major events on the Japanese rap scene in Tokyo, Yokohama and Nagoya. He also collaborates for two years with Tokyo radio station InterFM-89.7 TOKYO on the program "Tokyo Scene with Real Japanese Hip Hop". That same year, he teamed up with French DJ and rapper Sonikem, who joined the RJHH structure. In 2019, together they organize a hip-hop event in Paris, in collaboration with LaPlace, Paris' hip-hop cultural center, highlighting artists such as ISH-ONE, Aran and Tigarah. Attango is also playing a key role in Sonikem's collaboration with several Japanese rappers on the musical projects "Last Train to Shibuya" in 2019 and "Never Stop" in 2023.
Continuing its expansion in the world of Japanese hip-hop, Attango forges partnerships with various labels, media and structures in Japan, including Perimetron, TEAM2MVCH and Spincoaster. In 2022, he launched ATTANGO Management/Entertainment, a structure designed to promote Japanese hip-hop artists on the international scene. That same year, he initiated a partnership with the Maison de la culture du Japon in Paris to organize three conferences and a concert featuring Japanese rappers Coma-Chi and Namichie.
