The closure of the Sous-Marin concert hall in Vitrolles, the desire to abolish the intermittent employment scheme, the privatization of public broadcasting, pressure, censorship and threats to programming, attacks on or boycotts of certain artists, arbitrary appointments to head up cultural institutions, etc. - these are just some of the examples of the extreme right's threat to culture. Whether in France or abroad, there's no shortage of examples to show just how great the threat posed by the far right to culture is. How can the contemporary music sector face up to these threats and preserve cultural diversity and artistic freedom?
