Yoel Kenan is the founder and CEO of AFRICORI, the leading pan-African digital music distributor . Africori offerslabel services, digital distribution, synch licensing and publishing to artists, songwriters, labels and other music rightsholders in Africa. Yoel has over 30 years experience in the international music industry at senior executive level in thefields of A&R (Artist & Repertoire), marketing and business development at Universal, BMG and mp3.com.
Yoel started his career in France organizing concerts and setting up an independent record label before joiningUniversal Music. He then moved to London to work at Universal Music International and BMG Europe where he served in variouspositions in areas of marketing, A&R and digital. In 2001 he was appointed as the CEO of Mp3.comEurope, the continents leading digital music portal. In 2005, Yoel moved to Africa to develop new digital music business opportunities across the continent.
Africori is based in Johannesburg and has offices in Lagos and London and representation in Cameroon, Ghana,Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia.
