Merle-Anne Prins-Jorge aka Prinsess Jorge, a Parisian with French and Angolan roots, is a singer-songwriter and independent producer. A complete artist, she studied jazz as well as vocal technique, lyrical singing, theater and dance, and trained as a voice-over artist for commercials and documentaries.
A state-qualified singing teacher specializing in contemporary music, she supervises group practice workshops, participates in the creation of cross-disciplinary projects and accompanies emerging hip-hop artists as well as professional actors and dancers as a vocal and stage coach.
Since 2020, she has held the position of Deputy Mayor for Culture and Heritage in the town of Bagnolet.
She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Music Mediation at Sorbonne University.
A polyglot, her diverse repertoire has been built up over a career rich in experience and collaborations with other jazz artists, including Manu Codjia, Médéric Collignon and Youn Sun Nah. In 2010, her album "Voice Link", a voice-bass clarinet duo on which she declassifies pop classics in a jazz key, climbed to the top 5 of jazz sales on i-Tunes.
In 2013, she went solo with her electro Afro pop songwriting project, "Prinsess Jorge". The single "Natural" was released in 2015. Nearly ten years later, the track has gone viral, topping numerous playlists on Deezer or Spotify (Tiktok Hits France, Top Viral...). The Tiktok Spring 2024 trend, which also appeared on Instagram, generated over 100,000 videos with millions of views. Today, discussions are underway to sign the track to a label, and a remix by a famous DJ duo is in the works.
