Founded in early 2022, Avalon is the initiator of the Prix Joséphine des artistes, a new music industry award recognizing quality musical production and artistic excellence. The Prize is awarded by a Jury of artists and creators, whose role is to decide on a list of 40 albums chosen by a Selection Committee (made up of expert journalists) from among those registered for the Prize (over 250 albums registered in 2022 and 2023). The Palmarès rewards the 10 outstanding albums of the year. The Prize is open to all styles, without barriers of musical genre or notoriety. It celebrates the diversity of French production, and the high standards and singularity of artists who break down barriers and hybridize genres and sounds. It provides media exposure for albums and artists thanks to structuring partnerships with key players in the sector (FIP, Radio France, Fnac, RATP, Crédit Mutuel, Télérama, Les Inrockuptibles, etc.). It embodies a value of recommendation for the music-loving public through qualitative and educational digital communication, coupled with events open to all (ceremonies, master classes, etc.). It is supported by public and professional organizations that promote the general interest: Centre National de la Musique (CNM), Sacem, Adami. The Prix Joséphine promotes discovery, emergence, public involvement and awareness of artistic creation. Run with and for artists, the Prix expresses crucial values: diversity, parity, accessibility - the fundamentals of a modern public prize.
