Carine Rolland, born August 5, 1972 in Saint-Brieuc (Côtes-d'Armor), has been Deputy Mayor of Paris in charge of culture and the city of the quarter-hour, since 2020. She is a member of the Socialist Party.
After graduating from the Institut d'Études Politiques de Rennes in 1996, she embarked on a career as a marketing and communications executive with Lagardère, Bauer Medias and Metronews, where she held the position of Marketing and Sales Director from 2007 to 2015. In 2017, she was appointed Consulting Director for Rencontres France Télévisions.
At the same time, Carine Rolland has been an elected representative in the 18th arrondissement of Paris since 2008, where she was first Deputy Mayor of the 18th arrondissement in charge of culture (2008-2014, Mayor Daniel Vaillant), then First Deputy Mayor of the 18th arrondissement in charge of general affairs, culture and heritage (2014-2020, Mayor Eric Lejoindre).
She was elected Paris councillor in the 2020 municipal elections. Anne Hidalgo, re-elected Mayor of Paris, appointed her Deputy Mayor in charge of the City of the Quarter Hour on July 3, 2020, before adding the Culture portfolio to her portfolio on July 28, 2020.
Carine Rolland is also Chairwoman of Paris Musées, the City of Paris' public institution grouping together the 14 municipal museums and cultural establishments, and of CENTQUATRE, a major cultural establishment in north-east Paris.
