SKYGGE a.k.a Benoit Carré, is a pioneering musician who creates music with
artificial intelligence (A.I.). Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Shadow, Benoit Carré invented this avatar SKYGGE (shadow in Danish) as his own shadow revealed through his musical work with the A.I. tools he's been helping to create alongside teams of researchers since 2015 (Sony CSL, Soundtrap CTRL). His debut album "Hello World", released in 2018 (12 million streams), is considered the first pop music album composed with the help of A.I. Flow Machines. Benoit Carré then released the albums "American
Folk Songs" (2019) and "Melancholia" (2022). His work with I.A. has been noted by the specialist music press, including BBC Music, QUARTZ, CRACK Magazine, The Quietus, MusicAlly, Les Jours, Nova, France Culture, etc.
Benoit Carré is currently exploring the creative potential of vocal cloning A.I. technology, notably through timbre hybridization and real-time cloning in his latest EP "Clo_w_nes" and a live performance.
He is one of five experts appointed by the French Ministry of Culture to the Strategic Council on Artificial Intelligence initiated by the French Prime Minister.
At the same time, Benoit Carré is pursuing his songwriting career (Françoise Hardy, Imany, music to image), which began with the group Lilicub in 1996 ("Voyage en Italie", "Faire Fi De Tout").
