After a five-year career in China in artistic and cultural exchanges with Europe, and as a patron of the arts at the French Embassy, Alice returned to Europe in 2022 after Covid, to promote the diversity of the contemporary cultural scene she had discovered in Asia.
As director of Made in Asia, the festival that promotes contemporary Asian cultures in Toulouse and the surrounding region (8-10,000 spectators since 2008), she has witnessed the growing influence of Asian cultures and artists in Europe, though she is still a long way behind when it comes to contemporary indie Asian music, which is still very under-represented on European stages, even in comparison with other international stages just as far away.
That's how she decided to set up the Wonderland Agency, which builds bridges between France and Asia through music, to promote discovery and cultural diversity on stage. Founded by Alice Gau, it offers booking services for importing Asian artists to France and exporting French artists to Asia.
Alice Gau doesn't just connect artists; it also enables the creation of lasting relationships between French and Asian professionals by collaborating with conventions and music fairs in Asia and Europe. Through dedicated platforms - delegations, roundtables, conferences, workshops and meetings - she fosters enriched mutual understanding and new collaborations between the two regions.
