Hosted by Samuel Sené, conductor, music producer at Disneyland Paris, founder of Kreypt Music, and winner of the MaMa Invent RiffX 2023 prize.
This workshop offers an in-depth look at the intersection between musical art and modern technologies, including cryptography and blockchain.
The workshop will begin with a historical overview of musical notation, from its earliest appearance to its adoption in the 11th century. This system has enabled music to be transcribed and transmitted down the centuries, illustrating a parallel with the cryptographic codes used today to secure digital data. Kreypt Music uses these principles to convert phrases into unique musical compositions, with each work authenticated by the blockchain in the form of an NFT.
A hands-on demonstration of the creative process will give a better understanding of how Kreypt Music translates commissioned phrases into musical scores, before recording them with musicians to create unique, shareable digital works.
The workshop will also focus on the influence of new technologies on contemporary musical creation. In particular, it will analyze how blockchain redefines notions of ownership and distribution of works, while opening up new perspectives for the music and publishing industries through concrete use cases.
The workshop will be a space for reflection on musical conceptual art, questioning the impact of technology on the creative process, while emphasizing the importance of the human element in this technological process.
