A leading figure of Mahraganat (electro-shâabi) in France and a star of the genre in Egypt, Shobra El General embodies the revival of a fast-changing Arab electronic scene, at the crossroads of the hip hop scene, punctuated by sounds drawing on traditional Egyptian folk music. A self-taught rapper born in and shaped by the working-class suburbs of Cairo, his music resonates with the beating heart of the street, its cries, its unbridled engines, the tumult of crowds. Just as in his performances, which are veritable showpieces.
During the evening, Shobra will present his new album "City Sky", released in summer 2024 with Takwene production.
