Rust are Petra Hawi and Hany Manja, a Lebanese-Syrian duo based in Prague who draw their influences from traditional Arabic musicality, adding original compositions and dynamic vocals to create captivating soundscapes of electro-tarab. Their live performances transport listeners to a realm where tradition meets the contemporary, and where the beauty of Arabic music converges with the energy of electronic music.
Their critically acclaimed debut EP "Echoes" was released in 2022, and the duo have since released a stream of singles on the Wall of Sound label. Their singular approach to Arabic and electronic music has earned them some great dates in the region - Lebanon (Station Beirut, Beirut & Beyond), Egypt (Cairo Jazz Club), Saudi Arabia (MdlBeast XP Futures) and various clubs in the Emirates. Recently based in Prague, Rust also tours Europe - Switzerland (Bee-Flat, Docks), Germany (Urban Spree, Al Berlin) and France (Festival Arabesques, FIMU).
