How can we get back to basics if not by being ourselves? Franco-American musician Melissa Weikart is driven by a spirit of experimentation and openness that enables her to shape hybrid music with a high degree of sensitivity. Her intimate avant-pop is marked by her classical piano training, her love of jazz (she holds a Master's degree in Contemporary Improvisation from Boston's New England Conservatory) and her passion for folk songs.
Winner of the Nancy Jazz Up springboard in 2022, then winner of the instrumentalist prize at the Concours National de Jazz à la Défense the following year, Melissa begins to present her new EP Easy, scheduled for release in January 2025. With Kate Bush and Lana del Rey as her backdrop, Melissa Weikart now asserts her pop side in a captivating cinematic and theatrical ambience.
