Millennials with boomer references and Gen Z humor, the two Derrez brothers have inherited the groove.
Inspired by the delightful popculture references of the 80s and 90s, a utopian golden age that can be reinvented at will, this 2nd album (Tomorrow can wait, Oct. 2024) is full of groove. Track by track, we find a gallery of characters and light, happy, "romantic-kitch" moments, others more intimate and introspective. The result is a musical image of the passages in life that we all go through.
It's in this "nostalgia never felt so good" spirit that KING KRAB combines the charm of a retro sound with contemporary pop as the basis of this new album. 10 tracks of rounded, new-wave-like pop, combined with a retro-funk vibe and spiced up by energetic backing vocals.
And while for the younger among us, this delicate, polished album will sound rather current, others will enjoy plunging back into an era when the Game Boy reigned supreme.
