"Urban pop", "futuristic neo-pop", "alternative pop"... In recent years, pop has taken on an air of repellence. It almost seems to have become a dirty word, countered by convoluted new terms.
Inès Souki is far removed from such semantic hesitations. Quoting Ariana Grande, SZA, Angèle, Juliette Armanet, the echo of her voice doesn't scare her as long as it resonates in the hearts of her listeners. Her music is pop, with occasional glimpses of soul and R&B, and the atmosphere is colorful and muted, with hints of lilac. The lyrics are honest, the French leaving no room for modesty: it's with transparency that she shares with us her doubts, whether amorous or existential, her dreams of power as well as her great anger. Her warm, daring voice reaches into the abyss, her wide range allowing her to oscillate with ease between high and low notes. A veteran of the stage, she has been playing Parisian venues for several years, including the Théâtre Edouard 7 in May 2024. Her second EP is scheduled for release in late 2024. Her first single "Tu veux pas" was warmly received (300,000 listens on Spotify, top 11 on Youtube and numerous editorial playlists).
