Since 2010, Eléonore Fourniau has integrated into Turkey's Kurdish and Alevi communities, becoming a recognized Kurdish artist. Born into a family of historians specializing in Central Asia, she lived in Uzbekistan and learned Russian. Introduced to traditional music by her Occitan father, she discovered the hurdy-gurdy at the age of 19. After passing her Agrégation in History in 2010, she moved to Turkey to study local languages and music. She founded several groups, studied at the ITU Conservatory, and won a prize at the Alt?n Portakal festival in 2016. Since 2017, she has been pursuing a solo career, performing at festivals around the world. In 2024, she released her first Kurdish album "Neynik". She also performs in quintets with poly-instrumentalists and founds the vocal ensembles SAMAÏA and TELLI TURNALAR.
