Born in northern Minnesota on Highway 61, Cobi has songwriting running through his veins.
A young blues guitar prodigy, he began playing clubs (before he was old enough to drive) and cut his teeth playing long nights in smoky bars across the country. Blending genres, Cobi's songwriting interweaves resonant lyrics with catchy melodies. A style inspired by Rock, Blues, Folk, R&B, mixed with psychedelic guitar sounds and modern production. The first to perceive his potential was Lyor Cohen, co-president of DefJam record. A stroke of luck, his gospel influences and wide vocal range propelled his first single "Don't you cry for me" to the top of Spotify's worldwide chart, as well as to #1 on SiriusXM Spectrum radio.
Cobi has performed at Lollapalooza, the Sydney Opera House, the Royal Albert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl Opera and Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show.
